What is Prairieland Service Coordination, Inc.?



PSCI is a not-for-profit 501 C(3) Corporation providing service coordination for persons with developmental disabilities which are attributable to mental retardation or a related condition such as autism, cerebral palsy or epilepsy. Funding for services is provided through the Illinois Dept. of Human Services and private donations.


This Department completes annual quality assurance visits through their Bureau of Quality Management. PSCI has consistently met a high compliance level. The key to improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities is dependent upon the efforts of a qualified, trained staff dedicated to providing services for this population.

The History of Prairieland Service Coordination, Inc.



Prairieland Service Coordination, Inc. began providing lifespan individual service coordination to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 1994.


When Prairieland began, services were provided in five Central Illinois counties, DeWitt, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt and Shelby serving just over 300 individuals per year. One year later, PSCI assumed services in seven new counties, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham and Vermilion, for a total of 12 counties served. Today, Prairieland continues to provide services in 23 counties and serves over 5,000 individuals per year.


From its inception, Prairieland’s goal has been to help people with disabilities receive the assistance they need, want and deserve to navigate daily living. It is important for individuals to have a choice in the services they receive and Prairieland has been honored to be a partner in ensuring that their hopes, dreams, desires and needs are supported.
