Prairieland Service Coordination, Inc. began providing lifespan individual service coordination to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 1994.
When Prairieland began, services were provided in five Central Illinois counties, DeWitt, Macon, Moultrie, Piatt and Shelby serving just over 300 individuals per year. One year later, PSCI assumed services in seven new counties, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham and Vermilion, for a total of 12 counties served. Today, Prairieland continues to provide services in 23 counties and serves over 5,000 individuals per year.
From its inception, Prairieland’s goal has been to help people with disabilities receive the assistance they need, want and deserve to navigate daily living. It is important for individuals to have a choice in the services they receive and Prairieland has been honored to be a partner in ensuring that their hopes, dreams, desires and needs are supported.
